MUST HAVE Gold Metal Pack 8/18 pics and release info

I said it a few months pack, but the Gold Metal Pack dropping on 8/18 will be a must-have for all Jordan heads. Now that we’re approaching the release date, some more detailed pics are popping up. Seeing new shots, I’m sticking with what I said and the 7s > 6s. The pairs are both sick, and the packaging alone makes this pack a must-have

Some release info is also popping up. Most major chains will have these, and places like nikestore and Eastbay have already confirmed they’ll be dropping these. As with all recent releases, this pack will be super hyped, so make your plans early on how you’re copping.

With Team USA beating France, and on the path towards Olympic gold, this pack couldn’t come at a better time.

Retro Air Jordan 7 “Filbert” / “Natural”, Denim Khaki Pack

Every now and then, Jordan Brand surprises us. They have been releasing a heavy stream of popular, yet predictable retros. Re-releasing iconic colorways seems to be the money-making move for Jordan right now, and the brand hasn’t strayed into many new non-retro colorways or innovative designs. Sure, we’ve seen recent releases like the Cool Grey 12s and Cav 4s, but even those chose somewhat typical colors and materials.

Today, almost out of nowhere, the Jordan official site posted photos of two new upcoming releases. We’ll nickname them the “Filbert” pack since both pairs feature that color. Even so, they bear a strong resemblance to Denim and Khaki 3s we saw sampled a while back.

Blake Griffin Galaxy PE Postponed

After post preview shots a few months back, we’ve seen the BG32 Galaxy Hyperdunks pop up on sites like Air-Knight.com and FlightClub.com, with prices on average around $600.

Image

The unofficial drop date was rumored to be today, 6/23. But it appears the release has hit a snag. Blake’s contract with NIKE is in question, and there are rumors swirling that he’ll sign with Under Armor. Again, it’s all rumors at this point, but the contract issue seems to be pretty legit and it’s supposedly keeping the Galaxy’s from dropping. It would be sad to see this release scrapped, and even more sad to see Blake leave the NIKE brand, so keep your fingers crossed that the contract issue gets resolved.

I’ve seen these in person, and they aren’t as impressive as I hoped they’d be. They’ve been dumbed down quite a bit from the PE he wore during the all-star game, but the Galaxy label and glow-in-the dark will keep these pretty popular and sought after. If you REALLY want a pair, the time to pull the trigger is probably now before pairs get even more limited. But with every release, don’t get too desperate, as these might end up releasing after all.

Back On

So after a few weeks (months?) of absence, I decided to resurrect this blog. I won’t update it that frequently, and it will be more opinion-pieces and reviews than breaking news (there’s hundreds of blogs out there for news, I’ve found it’s not fun to just do more of the same).

In recent weeks, I’ve picked up a bunch of new sneaker releases, as well as a bunch of apparel purchases. Look for some new posts soon.

Jordan IV “Laser” making an appearance in 2012?

The Jordan IV “Laser” has always been a favorite of mine. I’ve always been tempted to pick up the 2005 white/red edition, but always pass them up (not a fan of reseller prices). We’ve also seen a black version of the Laser IV, but prices on these make them far from obtainable for the everyday sneakerhead.

Enter 2012, and Gentry Humphrey (Nike/Jordan big shot, for those who don’t know) has given us a a look at a potential NEW laser colorway.

Image

This white/red colorway takes a simpler spin on an iconic shoe. Although appearing a bit bland at first, this colorway incorporates a simple look that we’re seeing more and more in recent releases. Although there’s no official word yet on a possible release, the fact that these are being sampled is a good sign for anyone hoping to cop.

Older retro IV “lasers” below. Does this 2012 sample release stack up?

NIKE KD IV N7 Official Pics

**UPDATE** Nikestore twitter now confirms this release is pushed back until June.

When news of a mysterious “N7” colorway of the popular KD IV popped up on Nikestore twitter yesterday, many people thought this might be an April Fools ruse, as the release is right around the corner and no pics existed of this colorway. Nikestore twitter just released some official pics, and although they seem a tad disappointing, they do seem to confirm this shoe is indeed real and not a prank. Image

New Durant KD IV N7 Colorway Releasing 4/1

Durant fans all thought that 4/6 was the next release date to look forward to, as this is when the anticipated “Easter” colorway is set to hit stores. Today, Nikestore twitter confirmed that there’s a sooner release that seems to snuck under everyone’s radar.

Image

The release is dubbed the N7, which seems to be a reference to Nike’s “N7” collection. The collection using earth-tons and was inspired by Native American art and culture. It’s odd that the release is only a few days away and we have see official, or even un-official pics, but be sure to keep on the lookout throughout the week.

KD IV “Creamsicle” spotted?

The KDIV propelled Durant’s signature sneaker light years ahead of the KD3. Durant won’t allow his shoe to sell for more than $100, and in the days of $160 Lebrons and $140 Kobes, designing a $95 shoe while maintaining NIKE’s commitment to quality was a tall task. Solecollector recently did a feature with Leo Change, designer of the KDIV. The article game some insight into the design of the KDIV and a look into the shoe’s background and development, from sketchbook concept to court. The feature also gave us a hidden gem, a photo that appears it could be a “Creamsicle” edition of the KDIV.

Image

Although the coloration is slightly subdued compared to past years’ “Creamsicle”releases, this shoe undoubtably bears striking similarity with those editions. First spotted in the KDII, the “Creamsicle” has been a favorite colorway of Durant fans and a KDIV “Creamsicle” doesn’t seem too far fetched.

Amare Air Max Sweep Thru Galaxy

Amare saw a renaissance season with the Knicks last year, even coming up in MVP voting. This season, his stock has dropped as a result of poor Knicks play. Although he still has All-Star potential, his lethargic and lackluster season caused him to miss the 2012 All Star game.

Tonight, he tweeted a pic of his new PEs he’ll be wearing during the 3/17 game against the Pacers. A closer look at these kicks and one will realize they’re undeniably a “Galaxy” shoe that Nike undoubtably produced for the All Star Game in the hopes/assumption Amare would make it.
